Abstract

The inhibition of corrosion behaviour of carbon steel in Well water has been studied by the anticorrosion behaviour of the natural Jeera dye (JD) and ZnSO4 system. Results Obtained by Weight loss study shows 98% Maximum Inhibition efficiency at 10 ml of Jeera dye Extract and 50ppm of ZnSO4. Synergistic parameters suggest that a synergistic effect existing between Jeera dye extract and Zn2+.Statistical study of “F” test also revealed this effect. The Surface analysis was performed by Scanning electron microscope technique ( SEM )which was confirmed , the existence of an inhibitor molecules on the metal surface .FTIR Spectra revealed that the protective film consist of a complex formed between the active principle of the Jeera dye extract and Zn2+.
