Abstract

This paper examines the area of Sentiment Analysis, a field of study under the overall umbrella of Natural Language Processing (NLP), that is highly researched. Sentiment Analysis is an NLP technique used to analyze textual data and determine its nature and intent, which can be used to modify services and products to satisfy customers. Along with a comprehensive review of the origins of sentiment collection from surveys and questionnaires, its types, and applications in various sectors of trade, from e-commerce, and social media analysis, to writing assistants for students and professionals alike, this paper also analyses the challenges of the field.
