Abstract

The dynamical conduct of a delayed system consisting of toxin generating phytoplankton and zooplankton species with infectious phytoplankton species is investigated. The destabilization of the model system due to the time lag in the toxin generation mechanism is established. Oscillations are seen in populations due to of Hopf-bifurcation. Stability of the bifurcating periodic orbits is investigated with the help of Central manifold arguments and Normal form theory. Numerical simulations are used to verify the theoretical findings.
