Abstract

: In this work, gadolinium and thulium doped strontium titanate samples having composition Sr1-xGdxTi1-yTmyO3- (0≤x≤0.30, 0≤y≤0.05) have been successfully synthesized using sol gel method. All the synthesized ceramics possess sharp and well-defined XRD peak patterns without any impurity phases. The decrease in lattice parameter with increase in amount of Gadolinium was observed. X ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and energy dispersive X ray analysis (EDX) studies confirm the formation of cubic Sr1-xGdxTi1-yTmyO3- (0≤x≤0.30, 0≤y≤0.05) perovskites. SEM/EDX analysis revealed that ceramics possess high density with marginal inter-granular porosity. The synthesized samples possess high dielectric constants, high ac conductivity and low loss factors which further enhanced with gadolinium and thulium doping.
