Abstract
In the paper, the state of the art cryptographic algorithms used in the different popular protocols are discussed. The popular protocols used for secure communication over the Internet are Transport Layer Security (TLS) protocol, Signal protocol, Internet Key Exchange (IKE) protocol, Secure Shell (SSH) protocol and Secure Multipurpose Internet Mail Extensions (S/MIME).
